Harry's Shed

This mural was commissioned for the new roller door on the City of Canada Bay’s Men’s Shed to give the space a stronger visual identity within the community. The space is also home to the local angler’s club.

“Sheds have such an interesting role in Australian culture as places for work and creativity but also as meeting places or club houses. I wanted to capture something of this sense of meeting and activity in the attached sketches. The real protagonists of the mural are work tools; screwdriver, hammer, pliers, glue and adhesive tape, dancing to the rhythm of ideas. There is also space for lovers of fishing with the presence of a little fish which is curious about all this activity, and to close, there is also a bird that represents creativity taking flight.”
